Barely 24 hours after the state Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Joseph Masin was abducted by unknown kidnappers, the sum of N20 million has been demanded as ransom by his abductors.

Recall that WuzupNigeria earlier reported that Nasarawa State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN ) Bishop Joseph Masin has been abducted which was confirmed to journalists by his elder son identified as Peace Masin.

The cleric was abducted on Wednesday night at his Lafia home by assailants who came on motorcycles.

The state CAN vice-chairman identified as Pastor Tayo Samuel on Thursday told newsmen that the abductors had contacted Masin’s associates, asking for N20 ransom.

A community policing committee has been inaugurated on Thursday by the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu to check the uptick in criminal activities in the state’s remote parts.

The said committee comprises of representatives of the traditional institution, civil society organisations, and labour unions, among others.

Representing the Inspector-General of Police, Adamu, the state Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe said there was a need to scale up the security architecture in the state in the face of rising crimes.

Longe said police were on the trail of Masin’s abductors.
