Nigeria evacuates 50 trafficked girls, 19 others from Lebanon
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has announced that 69 Nigerians who were evacuated from Lebanon have arrived the country.
50 trafficked Nigerian girls and 19 stranded Nigerians have been evacuated from Lebanon.
Onyeama, who disclosed this in a tweet via his Twitter account, said the evacuees- 50 trafficked Nigerian girls and 19 stranded Nigerians arrived in Abuja on Sunday.
He said,
“With the financial and logistic support of the Lebanese Government and Lebanese community in Nigeria, 50 trafficked Nigerian girls and 19 stranded Nigerians were successfully evacuated and arrived Nigeria today.
“Profound gratitude to Ambassador Houssam Diad, Lebanese Ambassador in Nigeria and Ambassador Goni Zannabura, Nigerian Ambassador in Lebanon.”
Recalls that two hundred and ninety-two Nigerians evacuated from Saudi Arabia due to the Coronavirus pandemic arrived in Nigeria on Wednesday.
With the financial and logistic support of the Lebanese Government and Lebanese community in Nigeria, 50 trafficked Nigerian girls and 19 stranded Nigerians were successfully evacuated from #Lebanon and arrived Nigeria today.
