Nigeria to play Mexico, Italy in Bahamas beach soccer World Cup

The Super Sand Eagles of Nigerian have been drawn in Group B for the forthcoming Beach Soccer World Cup in Bahamas.

The Sand Eagles were drawn alongside Italy and Mexico for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2017, which will be played in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, between April 27 and May 7.

The draw was held on Tuesday at the Hotel Atlantis in Nassau, Bahamas.

Hosts Bahamas will play Switzerland in their opening match of the competition on April 27. Ecuador and Senegal were also drawn in Group A alongside the host nation.

Four-time champions Brazil were drawn alongside 2015 runners-up Tahiti, European champions Poland and a yet-to-be-determined AFC opponent in Group D.

The draw ceremony was held in the presence of the Rt. Hon. Perry Gladstone Christie, Prime Minister Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Assisting in the draw ceremony were FIFA Legend Emerson, former midfielder for Brazil’s national football team and the Miss Bahamas Universe 2016 Cherell Williamson.
