Nigerian soldier fumes as he was told military ID is invalid for bank transaction
A Nigerian soldier has expressed anger and disappointment over his inability to complete a bank transaction with his military identity card.
He said he had gone to the bank for an urgent transaction but was told he would not be able to carry out the transaction without either an international passport, voters card or a national ID card.
The soldier expressed his disappointment via his Twitter handle @jassjegs and said in other nations military personnel get discount on flight ticket.
He wrote:
“Sir, we need your ID to get it sorted out. I gave my Military ID. Sir this one is Invalid. Military ID? we need either National ID, Voters card or Int’l passport. My Int’l passport lost in NE. Sorry sir, we can’t do anything These Bank people are really mad.
“Those rubbish need to stop in all this Banks, in develop countries anywhere you flash your Military I’d, there is that special treatment you get. Even in fuel stations and malls. Once your ID is slotted in a machine and confirmed, there’s always rebate to anything you buy…
“Even when buying Air ticket you get discount as a Military personnel. Everything in Nigeria is just fucked up honestly. When are we going to minor things right in Naina ? When!!!”
