Published

Arsenal’s latest signing Kelechi Nwakali has confirmed to close friends and associates that he will arrive Arsenal to begin his career with the Gunners on Saturday, July 30, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

Nwakali signing was announced by Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger in January but the move was held up because he was yet to clock 18 which he recently did on the 5th June.

Reports had said that Nwakali signed a five-year contract with the Gunners.

It was learnt that Nwakali has already received a six months visa but has been unable to join the Gunners due to his commitments with the Nigeria Under-20s who were involved in the Africa Youth Championship qualifiers.

The highly rated Nigerian teen was voted the best player at the last FIFA Under-17 World Cup and only recently captained the Nigeria Under-20s who failed to qualify for next year Africa Youth Championship following a 3-4 loss to Sudan over the weekend.

He will team up with the B team of Arsenal in training pending when the Gunners are able to secure a work permit for him but according to sources close to the teen he will train with the first team intermittently as well.

Former Arsenal striker, Kanu Nwankwo, recently said Nwakali would do well at Arsenal when he finally completes his move to the Emirates stadium.

According to Kanu, Nwakali’s listening ears and ability to adapt will help him to succeed.
