A Nigerian man identified as, TosinSilverDam, has narrated how he was almost expelled in Kano State for wearing men’s shorts on the streets of the state.

The Twitter user who claimed that he just relocated to Kano three weeks ago said he learnt that ” their men were intimidated by his outfit and scared he’ll snatch their wives.

He also claimed that “men are not allowed to wear short, especially bachelors”.

“Relocated to Kano 3 weeks ago__ So today, I decided to take a walk, wearing a short. To my surprise, the people were staring at me, especially the men, I was so uncomfortable. The stare was just too much, I kept on wondering why they were staring like that.

“I just had to quickly rush back home. Do you know why they were staring? It’s because i was wearing short, it’s because the men are scared and threatened I might snatch their wives. Men are not allowed to wear short, especially bachelors.

“As a matter of fact__ If I’m not careful, the men in the community could hold a meeting and ask me to leave the community if I should continue to wear short. Just because they don’t want me to snatch their wives…”

The post which has since generated mixed reactions was affirmed by other men who recounted their experience.

I served in Bunza in Kebbi State, I hugged my colleague absentmindedly in the market, the wicked stares alone brought me back to my senses.

Presently serving in kano, and this is so true. Get yourself an apartment in No mans land, or Sabon Gari Area, then you are free to wear whatever you want to, outside this two areas, be careful, Know what to put on….

I had same experience when I moved to Kano 6 months ago.
The killer stare you get for wearing shorts and moving around is terrifying.
You can only do that confidently in Sabon giri.

They wear shorts. I served in Kano and I wore shorts a lot because of heat. They also wear shorts. A lot of young indigenes that moved with corps members wear shorts. But if a lady wears short she fit get issues she.
