Nigerians share horrible experiences on the job
What was the worst job you ever had? A lot of working class adults have stories to tell about the cruelty of their former employers and the inhumane treatment they got on their jobs.
Nigerians on Wednesday took to social media to share experiences from their worst jobs.
The reactions were prompted by a tweet from OAP, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, who posted a question on her Twitter handle @GbemiOO to ask social media users about the worst jobs they ever had.
She wrote:
“What was the worst job you ever had?”
Responding to the OAP’s tweet, some Nigerians shared hilarious and agonizing tale from their jobs.
A twitter user @Shalamsee wrote:
“Selling story books on foot on the streets of Ikoyi and VI.
“I remember one day I was walking on Awolowo with my bag of books and a classmate slowed down to laugh at me. Saw her a few weeks ago, she wasn’t laughing anymore ?”
Another respondent identified as Okusanya Babajide in his response wrote:
“Alabama educational consultancy firm… Baba handed me 3k at the end of the month.
“I almost broke into tears… I needed no one to tell me to run for my dear life. He waited for me to come back the following day… Buh I was far gone.”
These are some of the reactions:

On the Second day of Resumption, a Machine chopped off the finger of one of the workers
I saw one of the Indian Bosses Laughing at the Worker.
I closed work and never went back.

Worked at this start-up for 13 hrs daily (10 hrs officially), 6 days a week. To my amazement, 1.5 years later, we still hadn’t “met target.” Therefore, meager salary, no bonuses, no overtime pay, no public holidays, & nil recognition awards. Left when it hit that i was being used

Got linked to one Mr Coker at surulere by an agency. First day he showed me a bunch of old files that i’ll later sort and trash. Treked from Masha to Eric Moore (he said he was meeting clients). He deducted 2000 from my salary same day. I didn’t resume the next day

Father lord, I was working for Cocacola as a preseller… I went from attractive to haggard looking. That period was one of the worst times of my life as I was not only depressed, I started avoiding meeting people.
I worked Monday to Saturday, no holidays even on Christmas day.— thatesangirl (@EverythingDepth) March 26, 2019
As a merchandiser. I literally had to trek from Sagamu to Ijebu-Ode and Abeokuta so I can advertise and sell my products.
