Nigerians want DJ Khaled to compensate artist who drew his son’s portrait

The response of American DJ and singer, Khaled Mohamed Khaled, popularly known as DJ Khaled, to the pencil drawing of his son, Asahd, by a Nigerian artist has sparked hilarious reactions from Nigerians.

The artist identified as Sammie Israel had shared the artwork via his Twitter handle @Mygreypencils on March 16, with the aim of getting the artiste’s attention.

The artwork finally got Khaled’s attention on March 23, a week after it was shared on social media.

But the American producer beat the expectations of the artist and other Nigerians who had joined in the campaign to ensure the artwork gets his attention, when he quoted the tweet and wrote:

“amazing”

Some Nigerians who took to Twitter to react to his response said they had expected Khaled to emulate American comedian Kevin Hart who purchased a pencil drawing of himself from Kaduna-based artist, Eli Waduba on Twitter and also asked the artist to do additional drawings for three of his unnamed celebrity friends

DJ Khaled’s response to the artwork, has elicited hilarious reactions from Nigerians who have camped in the comment section of his tweet asking him to support the artist.
