No cash rewards for triumphant Nigerian Paralympians as Buhari congratulates them
Less than 24 hours after the arrival of Nigerian athletes to the just concluded 2016 Rio Paralympics held in Brazil, President Muhammadu Buhari has sent them a congratulatory message for their outstanding performance at the Games.
According to a Facebook post by the Senior Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr President commended the athletes for doing the country proud by winning 12 medals and setting new records, which made them the top-performing African team at the 2016 games.

There was no mention of cash rewards for the triumphant athletes despite their exploits at the Paralympic Games which saw them winning eight gold medals, two silver and two bronze medals as well as setting six new World Records.
