No shot on target: Man. United set woeful record in Europa League goalless draw vs AZ Alkmaar

Published

Manchester United seems to be sinking to an all-time low after setting a woeful record with their goalless draw with AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.

The struggling Red Devils produced an uninspiring performance in Holland on Wednesday evening, with Jesse Lingard wasting United’s best chance late on.

It was AZ who had the better of the chances, with Myron Boadu seeing a first-half goal correctly ruled out for offside.

United struggled to create chances against their Dutch opponents and failed to register a shot on target for the first time in their history of the competition.

Speaking after the 0-0 draw, Solskjaer said:

“It’s a different type of sport on the artificial pitch. ‘We had to adapt to that, we made a few changes because of that, we come away with a good performance and a good point, although it should have been three.”

Manchester United have now failed to win in their past 10 away games.
