Notorious Nigerian female fraudster arrested in Ghana

A notorious female fraudster, Bridget Enchill Obeng, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service.

Obeng was arrested for defrauding victims under the pretext of selling cars to them.

The police had been searching for Obeng aka Naana, for nine months but finally caught her at Baah Yard, Awoshie, Accra.

DailyGuide reports that the police had earlier arrested a woman suspected to be Obeng in May 14, 2017, but upon investigations they found out that it was mistaken identity.

On the order of the Director General in-charge of CID, COP Bright Oduro, she was granted bail.

The Police further intensified the search for her and after a tip-off, Obeng was arrested.

The Police said Obeng defrauded victims by advertising exoctic cars for sale with her contact numbers on them.

When interested persons contacted her, she arranges to meet them or sends her accomplies to tidy up the deal and after the customes agreess on the price, the money is transfered to her account and that is last the custormers hear from her.

The Police said, Obeng takes the buyers to other persons she claims are the real owners of the vehicles.

“After the money has been paid, Enchill and her cohorts then present the victims with fake car keys and documents and asks them to go for the vehicles.

When the victims get to where the supposed vehicles are parked, they will not find them (vehicles).”

Investigations also revealed that the Obeng and her accomplices often use apartments with owners outside the country or hospitals for their nefarious activities.

Six of the victims of Enchill Obeng told the police that their monies were collected at the Korle-Bu Teaching, 37 Military and the Ridge Hospitals.
