NSCDC arrest fake medical doctor for killing three-year-old girl

The operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps in Nasarawa state said it has apprehended a fake medical practitioner who allegedly practised medicine for over two years in Lafia, Nasarawa state capital.

The fake doctor, identified as Mudansi Mohammed Idris allegedly killed three-year-old girl Hauwa while trying to transmit blood into her at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia.

Parading the suspect on Monday, the state NSCDC commandant, Mr Mahmud Mohammed Fari, said that he was apprehended following a complaint from the father of the little girl who died while undergoing blood transfusion from the fake doctor.

According to Hauwa’s father:

“We have arrested a fake medical doctor and unfortunately, through his practice, we are charging him with culpable homicide because he illegally administer a blood on an innocent girl, a girl of 3 years which resulted to her death.”

NSCDC boss, added that the suspected was arrested on the 31st of January 2020 at Sarki power street in Lafia where he runs an unregistered chemist and has been practicing for over two years, ‘he has no medical certificate’, he said.

The fake doctor Mr Idris told Journalists that he is a student of the College of Health Technology Gboko and admitted that he has been treating people successfully but not complicated cases like that of the dead girl.

He admitted committing the crime but pleaded with NSCDC officials and state government to forgive him.
