18 years after: OC Ukeje shares mementos of his first work as an actor [Photo]
Award-winning Nollywood actor, Okechukwu Ukeje aka OC Ukeje, on Monday relished memories from the beginning of his acting career as a stage actor in 2001.
The 37-year-old actor took to his Instagram page to share the mementos of his first work as an actor and wrote:
“January 2001… My first commercial work as an actor… When acting began, on stage, with a community of people that raised me (and worked with me) with these plays…
“And when I thought I was good looking! PS: my sister @ada_oluneye still calls me Omoba till date from these plays.”
OC Ukeje came to limelight after winning the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) reality show in 2006.
He starred in his first screen appearance, White Waters, with Joke Silva and Rita Dominic in 2008. The movie won him the 4th Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for Most Promising Actor.
In 2013 he won the Nigeria Entertainment Awards for Best Lead Actor in a Film; Best of Nollywood Awards for Best Lead Actor in an English Movie; Nollywood Movies Awards for Best Actor in a Lead Role; Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for Best Actor in a Drama. He was also nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
