Okorocha and wife not arrested – EFCC
There is no truth in the story making the rounds that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) have staged a crackdown on former Imo governor Rochas Okorocha, his wife Nkechi and some other members of his family.
A report, shared by multiple news platforms claimed that the EFCC arrested Okorocha’s wife Nkechi and other relations, Gerald Okorocha and Okey Okorocha in Ogboko, Okorocha’s hometown.
The report also claimed that the commission has sealed Okorocha’s Eastern Palm University Ogboko.
When asked to confirm the report, according to PM News, an EFCC source said the whole story was concocted.
“It is fake news”, he said.
Okorocha, a well-known philanthropist before being elected in 2011, ruled Imo till 28 May 2019. He was chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum.
