Oro cult unleashed in Ogun community as truck crushes CDC chair to death

The Ajowa Community in Iyesi in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State have unleashed the Oro Cult on the area after the chairman of the Community Development Council [CDC] was crushed to death by a truck on Tuesday.

WuzupNigeria gathered that the CDC chair, simply identified as Chief Edun, had led some residents of the community to collect toll from the truck driver who wanted to pass a failed portion of a road in the area.

It was further gathered that Edun and some community members were fixing the failed portion and insisted the trucker pay a toll but he resisted.

According to a source, who wanted anonymity, Edun was annoyed by the action of the driver and thus climbed the step by the driver’s door in a bid to stop him from plying the road.

However, while struggling with the driver, Edun’s leg slipped and he fell underneath the moving truck which crushed him.

The development triggered a mob action which made the community unleashed Oro cult in the area.

The angry mob immediately beat the driver to a stupor and went ahead burning the tipper.

Officials of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps [TRACE] in the state who rushed to the scene were reportedly prevented from interfering.

The public Relations Officer of TRACE in the state, Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the incident.

He said,

“Reports reaching us indicated that Iyesi Ota is highly boiling due to a fatal motor accident that killed a prominent son of the area.

“Our operatives have since withdrawn as situation became more tensed. But Papa Oscar has taken over the atmosphere.

“They have brought Oro out now “.
