OSUN IS NOT AN ANNEXE OF LAGOS! Don’t let them deceive you with ‘sugar-coated promises’, Davido tells Osun residents
Hours before the Osun State governorship rerun election, hip-pop artiste, Davido, has urged voters to ignore “sugarcoated promises”.
WuzupNaija recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission had declared the governorship election, which held last Saturday, inconclusive, and fixed a rerun in seven polling units in four Local Government Areas of the state.
Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, is the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election. He will contest against the All Progressives Congress’ candidate, Isiaka Oyetola, in the rerun.
However, with the candidate Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore, backing the APC, the singer took to his Instagram page to urge voters to vote for his uncle and the PDP.
The rerun is holding in units believed to be the strongholds of Omisore.
He wrote:
“To all patriotic Osun state citizens. On the road to #Osun2018, I salute you for all the mileage you have covered thus so far during this election. I salute your courage, resilience and support Adeleke the dancing senator, soon to be the cheerful and dancing governor & our party at large.
“I salute your ability to vote and deal with the poor governance & incumbent administration, I salute your struggle in this keenly contested election in the history of your state.
“It should be noted that Osun state is not an annexe of Lagos but state of its own and such all sorts of political suzerainty should be rejected, expunged and decimated. Don’t be sugarcoated by their blatant promises.
“As you cast your votes tomorrow for the re-run, vote PDP. We solidarise with you, OBO.”
