OSUN RERUN! How Fani-Kayode, Omojuwa, others reacted to Omisore join forces with APC rumours

Published

Nigerians have taken to their Twitter accounts to lambaste Senator Iyiola Omisore of the Social Democratic Party over reports he may have rebuffed the offer to support the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Ademola Adeleke, in Thursday’s Osun State Governorship election rerun.

Omisore, who was a former Deputy Governor in the state, had in May 2018 dumped the PDP for the SDP over the party’s refusal to field him as its candidate in the governorship election held September 22.

Omisore, who contested for the governorship position on SDP platform, came third behind APC’s Isiaka Oyetola and Adeleke, who were second and first respectively.

However, with INEC declaring the election inconclusive and its order that rerun election be conducted in places where Omisore had a huge following, the former PDP man suddenly became the toast of both the ruling APC and his former party.

Reports on Wednesday indicated that Omisore may have decided to join forces with the APC. However, rumours of his intention to back the APC against the PDP in the election has angered some Nigerians who have gone on Twitter to lambaste him.

One Henry Shield, who described himself on his Twitter page as the Head of Mission (Nig), Leadership & Accountability Initiative and Chairman/C.E.O, SBA Group, asked the former deputy governor to consider the pain of the people of Osun before pitching his tent with the APC.

How much is the freedom of your people worth? How many millions? How much? A Leader is the man who shows his people the pathway to liberty, freedom and development. Let their pains speak to your conscience Sir.

Another commenter, Bolanle Cole/@bolanle_cole, alleged that Omisore sold Osun to the ruling party.

Goodluck!

Adding his voice to the bashing, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, said

On saturday, Adams Oshiomole called Iyiola Omisore a murderer and by wednesday he offered him 480 million and the APC senatorial ticket.

I trust that Iyiola will remember that dining with the devil is a risky business: the bible says what profiteth a man to gain the world and lose his soul.
