One of the medical doctors at the quarantine centre told our correspondent that the six confirmed cases were travellers from Kano who were intercepted by the State government last week.

“Sometimes last week, security agencies intercepted some travellers coming into the State from Kano and were quarantined and their samples sent for testing.

“There is no need for panic among residents because the travellers have not interacted with members of the public in the State.

“However, there is need for the public to continue to obey the basic precautions of regular handwashing and use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers,” he said.

This is even as the source said more results from the sample sent to Abuja for testing were still being awaited.
