PAPERS WILL BE WRITTEN ON SEPTEMBER 29! WAEC postpones English Language exam
The West African Examinations Council has postponed the English Language examination scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 22, till September 29, 2018.
The examination body revealed this on its official Twitter handle, @waecnigeria after a candidate asked when the exam will hold.
The tweet reads,
“English Language papers will be written on September 29, 2018. Please, go to our registration site (http://registration.waecdirect.org) and download the timetable.”
Although the examination body did not give the reasons for the proponent, reports say it may be connected to the forthcoming Osun State gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on September 22.
Meanwhile, WAEC has urged the Federal Government to enact a law that would enable it to demobilise networks in all centres during the conduct of its examinations.
The Head, Public Affairs of the council, Mr Damianus Ojijeogu, made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Lagos.
Ojijeogu said this would help to further tackle the rising cases of examination malpractices among candidates in the country.
He spoke against the backdrop of activities of some fraudulent persons who operated rogue websites and use it to defraud candidates by posting wrong questions and answers during its examinations.
