Pastor slumps, dies while defecting from PDP to APC in Edo

A ‘man of God’ slumped and died in Edo State while defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] to the All Progressives Congress [APC] in Benin City.

The cleric, identified as Pastor Aimola John, was said to have defected to the ruling party alongside Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

After he slumped Pastor John was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

He had left the APC in 2015 alongside Pastor Ize-Iyamu and was among former PDP members that were returning home to the APC at the residence of Ize-Iyamu where he slumped.

He was said to have been a former chairmanship candidate for Owan East Local Government Area.

Tributes have been poured in for him on the social media where he was hailed as a true loyal party man

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state had expelled its former governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Ize-Iyamu was expelled following his refusal to confirm or refute his rumoured defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (PDP).

He was expelled from participating in any PDP related activities with immediate effect.
