PAYBACK? Pastor murdered by nephew during church service
Dr. David Nabegmado, a senior pastor at the Central Assemblies of God Church, was stabbed to death during church service.
The pastor was attacked on Sunday as he was preparing to leave his inner office for the main church auditorium to preach, Citinewsroom reports.
He reportedly died a few hours later, at a nearby medical facility, where he had been rushed for treatment.
According to multiple reports, the alleged attacker, a nephew of the pastor, Francis M. Nabegmado was apprehended by passers-by and some church members.
Nabegmado has been arrested by the police for the gruesome murder. A second suspect has also been arrested and is being interrogated by the police.
Speaking with journalists, the suspect said that his uncle had tried to kill him several times in spiritual battles.
“My uncle is worshipping lesser gods. He is not a man of God.
“He has sacrificed all the family people and destroyed everybody” he alleged.
The Tema Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the death of the senior pastor of the Central Assemblies of God Church.
