Peter Okoye terminates contract with Psquare
Nigerian music duo, Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye better known as Psquare have officially split.
According to an exclusive letter from LIB obtained from Festus Keyamo chambers, Peter Okoye said he had decided to terminate the agreement between Psquare.
Mr P who had formally declared his personal brand name via his social media handles had raised brows over rumours that had gone viral that the brothers were not in good terms.
In the letter, from Keyamo’s chamber, Peter Okoye stated clearly his reasons for terminating the agreement between Paul and older brother/ manager, Jude Okoye, adding that he had tread with caution because his families life and safety were a priority.
Mr P also defended his decision which he termed painful with instances of life threats and physical assaults from Jude. He, however, said they were still his family and he wished them well in their future endeavours.
He said, What I am about to do has been the most difficult decision to make, I have tried and exhausted all my option to make this work. However, it seems that Paul is not willing to corporate.
“For example, he cancelled our US tour without discussing it with me, he cancelled each show we were booked for.
“He has also been accusing and threatening my wife and family of unimaginable lies via social media outlets, I and my wife have been getting different threatening messages.
“I cannot continue with P square in conditions like this that will jeopardize my well-being.
“Remember Jude and threatened to kill me and shoot my wife in the presence of Paul and Mrs Imoke (former first lady of Cross River state ) and had repeated it several times.
“We all have agreed that as long as P Square is in existence, we can operate as individual as long as it doesn’t tamper with the group songs.
“I wish Jude and Paul the best in their careers, I love them and their families but my family comes first.
There have been so many threats against me and my family and it’s in the best interest of myself and family to terminate the contract.”
