PHOTOS: Another gas explosion rocks Lagos
A gas explosion has rocked Ajara Vevho area of Badagry in Lagos State, Monday. It is the second gas explosion in one day.
The explosion occurred at a gas shop when owners of the business were offloading cooking gas into the shop.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, five people have been killed and another five injured in the explosion. However, an unconfirmed report said that the explosion was triggered by a mobile phone of an unidentified person.
The director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rassak Fadipe confirmed the incident and added that firefighters from Badagry fire station and neighbouring stations were still battling with the fire as at the time of filing this report.
The deceased persons were identified as apprentices at a nearby hair salon and a commercial motorcyclist, who was standing in front of the gas shop.
Earlier in the day, an explosion had rocked one Second Coming Gas shop on CMD, Magodo, Lagos.
