Many persons have been reported injured in an accident involving a loaded trailer and a BRT bus in Ikorodu area of Lagos state about 10am on Tuesday.

Reporting the incident, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said the truck skidded off the main carriageway to collide with a high capacity BRT on its corridor.

LASTMA also confirmed that casualties have been taken to the hospital and evacuation process has started.

“A fatal accident involving a loaded trailer going into Ikorodu that skidded off the main carriageway to collide with a high capacity bus on the BRT corridor.

“Casualties have been taken to the hospital. Movement in/out of Ikorodu is heavy due to onlookers. Effort is on for the recovery.

“The evacuation process has started. Traffic backlog has extended to Oja b/stop for those coming from Ikorodu. The backlog is at Asolo for those going into Ikorodu, ” LASTMA tweeted
