Photos: Sanwo-Olu hosts Raji Rasaki, David Mark in Alausa

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, hosted former military governor of Lagos, Raji Rasaki and former Senate President, David Mark.

Mr. Sanwo-Olu in a tweet said that the retired servicemen led the third regular course alumni of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) on a visit to his office.

“Today, I hosted the 3rd Regular Course Alumni of the Nigerian Defence Academy led by HE David Mark, former Senate President and HE Raji Rasaki, former Military Governor of Lagos.

“It was great to interact with our retired servicemen who gave all to protect our country,” Sanwo-Olu tweeted.”

Raji Rasaki, 72, was a one-time military governor of Ogun State (1986–87) before his re-deployment to the nation’s economic nerve centre, Lagos State, becoming that state’s military governor in 1988.

Soon after, he embarked on a massive demolition exercise of illegal structures to rid the State of shanties. That singular act resulted in the revitalization of Lagos, and a boom in the real estate market.

It also earned him the nickname of “action governor.”

David Mark, 71, GCON is a retired Nigerian Army Brigadier General and politician. He was President of the Senate of Nigeria from 2007 to 2015 and is the Senator for the Benue State constituency. He is a member of the People’s Democratic Party.
