Police arrest man with 10 bags of Indian hemp in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly being in possession of 10 bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

35-year-old Sunusi Abdullahi of Badawa Quarters, Nassarawa LGA was arrested on 21 November 2019 when police raided criminal hideouts in the area, the spokeperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, said on Wednesday.

The suspect said the items in question belong to one Dadaye, a dealer, who used to sell the Indian hemp around Badawa Quarters in Nasarawa Local Government Area.

He added that also on the same date “at 2000hrs, one Abubakar Jibrin ‘m’ 28 years old of Kofar Gombe Quarters, Bauchi LGA, Bauchi State was also arrested at Sheka Quarters, Kumbotso LGA Kano State in possession of 75 bottles of Codeine Syrup”.

The Spokesperson said one Ibrahim Hassan, ‘m’ 19 years and Abdulrahman Mohd ‘m’ 21 years old all of Malam Madori LGA Jigawa State were arrested at Fagge Quarters Fagge LGA Kano State in possession of 30 packs of Red-Solution.

Haruna said the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution after investigation.
