Police arrest two suspected ritualist in Delta, recover human skulls

The police in Delta have arrested two suspected ritualist and uncovered human skulls from them, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hafez Inuwa, said on Wednesday.

Speaking in Asaba, the Delta State capital, Inuwa, who paraded some suspects arrested over the incident, said the factories were uncovered following a tip-off by one Stephen Oyibare, a vigilante leader of Igbogidi community in Udu.

Oyibare complained to the police that two people pretending to be insane were suspected ritualists. Following the tip-off, policemen had stormed the area and discovered human skulls, bones, 15 used baby pads and other items.

Inuwa said the area gave out an offensive stench of decomposing items.

He added that two suspects, 33-year-old Yakubu Bala from Taraba State and 30 year-old Emmanuel Obughor from Ahoda in Rivers State, were arrested in connection with the incident.

Inuwa said,

 “One Stephen Oyibare a vigilante leader of Igbogidi community in Udu reported at the station that two suspected ritualists pretending to be of unsound mind were accosted under the DSC expressway Bridge by Igbogidi.

“Upon search, the suspects Yakubu Bala 33 year-old from Taraba State and Emmanuel Obughor 30 year-old from Ahoda Rivers State were found with suspected human bones and other items. Both were very coherent in their speech when interviewed.”
