Police ban commercial motorcycle/tricycle in Sokoto
Towards sustaining the concerted efforts of combating armed robbery, kidnapping and other criminal activities, the Sokoto state police command has henceforth placed a ban on the movement of commercial motorcycle and tricycle.
The ban according to a statement issued by the command PPRO, ASP Muhammad Abubakar Sadiq, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim S. Kaoje, say “the ban on the movement of commercial motorcycles/tricycles from 11 pm to 6 am, is with immediate effect with the exception of those on essential services.
“In the same vein, all tea vendors popularly referred to as mai shayi, are to shut down businesses for the day from 11 pm to 6 am.
“Against this backdrop, the Sokoto State Police Command enjoins the people of Sokoto to remain steadfast in obedience to law and order and to exercise maximum restraint towards violation of orders.
“It is imperative to note that violators will be decisively sanctioned in accordance with the law,” the statement added.
