Police parade woman who kidnapped five-year old child in Kano
The Kano State Police Command, on Thursday, paraded a 22-year old woman, Hafsat Jibrin, of Hotoro quarters after kidnapping a five-year-old child, Aisha Sunusi at Farawa quarters, Kano, where she demanded a ransom of N600,00.
She has been accused of child trafficking, alongside 287 other suspects, alleged to have committed various crimes, ranging from armed robbery, car theft, burglary and banditry.
While parading the suspects at the Police Command, yesterday, the State Police Commissioner, Habu A. Sani, represented by the Command’s spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, disclosed that the suspect was arrested, while trying to collect the ransom.
According to Haruna, one child trafficking suspect, Zainab Adam, 25 years old, of Hotoro quarters, was also arrested, in possession of a one-month-old child, while looking for a buyer, adding that investigation is already in progress.
Another suspect, Ismail Hussaini, 32 of the same Hotoro quarters was equally arrested on Ring road Eastern By-pass, after he broke into a shop and carted away hundred pieces of brand new mobile handsets, 100 pieces of memory card and a cash sum of N700, 000.
Other suspects arrested, include 184 thugs, and phone theft suspects, all of whom were arrested during the Christmas celebration around nine Local Government areas of the State.
The rest exhibits paraded, include large quantity of weeds, suspected to be Indian Hemp, and over five vehicles of various makes.
