Policeman who killed a soldier in Port Harcourt arrested
Rivers State Police Command has arrested the officer that reportedly shot and killed a soldier in Port Harcourt.
Reports said the deceased soldier, who was in mufti came out of a hotel armed with a pistol in his pocket and was suspected to be an armed robber.
The soldier was reportedly accosted by a group of policemen who reportedly shot him while trying to identify himself.
The incident which happened on Thursday, May 17, caused pandemonium in the popular Ada Goerge axis of Port Harcourt.
A witness said that the soldier identified as, Akin, lodged at a hotel along Elipranwo when the sad the incident occurred.
The witness said,
“The policemen probably mistook him for a criminal and shot him dead.”
