A star-studded Nollywood thriller, “If I Am President” is set to hit cinemas across Nigeria on November 9, its producers have said.
The movie, a production of High Definition Film Studio (HDFS), features top Nollywood stars Joke Silva, Ayo Ayoola, Rahama Sadau, Ivie Okujaye and Bryan Okwara.
Other casts in the acclaimed smash hit include Rakiya Atta, Uzee Usman, Kayode Aiyegbusi and Victor Decka, among others.
Written and directed by Bright Wonder Obasi, “If I Am President” is a political drama that tells the story of 37-year old Zinachi Ohams, the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Rebirth Party (NRP), the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
NRP is a new party made up of young idealists and recently metamorphosed from a Civil Society Organisation.
According to Obasi the movie “is aimed to inspire patriotism, stimulate public consciousness around corruption and the effect on governance, and use entertainment to galvanise citizen’s agency against corruption in Nigeria.”
The movie, which will be translated in four Nigeria languages, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo and Pidgin English, has been premiered in Abuja and Lagos.
The movie also has been slated for premiere in the UK, US, and Canada for Nigerians in Diaspora.
