Prophesying death on social media not edifying – Pastor Yemi Davids
The Senior Pastor of Global Impact Church, Pastor Yemi Davids, has spoken against the prophesying of death on social media, describing it as unedifying.
The Urban and Regional Planning graduate from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun such public revelation may be backed by selfish motives.
He said,
It is unfortunate and I don’t think it is edifying. Even if God reveals to me that someone will die, why would I say it in public, if not for selfish motives? If God reveals such to you, pray for the person, instead of revealing it publicly.
Whatever we do, we should remember that our leaders are human beings too – brothers, sisters, husbands and fathers to some people.
The cleric further advised parents to stop raising their children the way they were raised.
He said,
I want to appeal to parents to read on parenting because we don’t really know how to do it. A lot of people are raising their children the same way their parents raised them. There are children that will not be affected when you shout at them, while there are some whose egos will be destroyed when you yell at them. At the end of the day, that child might not turn out well, and that could damage an entire generation. That child will marry someone and carry the same baggage which he got from his parents.
Parents shape a generation and people have to be aware of what they don’t know, because when you don’t know something, you will get all the knowledge you can get on it.
