Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State on Saturday told Peoples Democratic Party agents in the state to protect their votes in the 2018 gubernatorial election in the state.

“Even if they are going to cut your neck, let them cut the neck. So long as the ballot boxes are there”, he told the party agents on the phone while on his way to vote.

According to ChannelsTV, Fayose received another phone call and said,

“I don’t want to hear stories. Vote and protect your votes.

“Don’t come back to Ado-Ekiti without protecting. Whosoever’s ballot boxes they are carting away should better remain in his community”.

Wuzup Naija reports that the voting in the state was largely peaceful although there are allegations of votes buying by the PDP and All Progressives Congress.
