PSG reject Barca first offer for Neymar
Paris Saint-Germain are open to letting Neymar go to Barcelona on loan, but they’ve rejected the Catalan club’s first offer for the Brazilian.
PSG rejected a €190 million offer from Barcelona that would see Neymar return to Nou Camp on a loan, sources have told ESPN FC.
Barca offered an upfront sum of €40m cash for the loan with a future obligation of €150m to permanently sign the Brazilian star from the French champions next summer, sources said.
The French side value the forward at 250 million euros and want guarantees that Barcelona would exercise this option to buy if a deal was agreed.
Both parties will continue talks in the next few days.
An obligation to buy would make things complicated for Barcelona because they need to balance their books for the season.
After splashing the cash on the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong already, it seems unlikely that they’d be able to have a balance between incomings and sales.
PSG want money to reinvest in their squad and if they’re not guaranteed to get it, then they’re not willing to accept the deal.
Real Madrid are awaiting Barcelona’s next move, while Juventus are eyeing a chance to swoop for Neymar, using Paulo Dybala as a bargaining chip.
