Punch longest-serving director, Dr Lekan Are, is dead
The longest-serving director on the board of PUNCH Nigeria Limited, Dr. Lekan Are, is dead.
Dr Are was a businessman, agronomist and respected elder citizen
A family member who confirmed his death to PUNCH on Saturday said Dr. Are died at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, shortly after midnight. He was 86.
He was the Chairman of Kakanfo Inn and a former Chairman of University Press Plc.
A distinguished and well-regarded agriculture and water resources expert, he also served as General Manager of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority.
