The red dress controversy has now taken a new turn as the bride, Mrs. Lawrentta Sawyer, has threatened to sue actress, Mercy Aigbe and the designer, Maryam Elisha @rikaotobyme.

In a letter addressed to the designer, titled “Notification of Breach of Contract and Allegations of Fraudulent, Unlawful and Criminal Conduct,” the bride’s lawyers, Capitalfield Attorneys said @rikaotobyme bridged her contract by deliberately converting their client’s property for “selfish gains.”

The letter also read that their client Mrs. Sawyer, whose Instagram handle is @rettypety suffered incalculable psychological anguish and trauma inflicted by the designer’s conduct.

The lawyers, in the letter, served to the designer, accused her of fraud, and asked that she should resolve the matter within seven days, otherwise they will seek legal redress.

“Accordingly if we do not receive a clear and unequivocal indication of your willingness to resolve this matter within seven days of your receipt of this correspondence, we shall, without further let or hindrance, seek legal redress on behalf of our client and further, draw the attention of the relevant law enforcement agencies including but not limited to the Nigeria Police.”
