Royal family in search of prince who absconded after ‘Ifa’ picked him as next king
A royal family in Ogbagi-Akoko in the Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo state is presently in search of the first son of its late monarch who absconded after being declared the heir to the vacant throne.
The Oloriki Royal Dynasty said following the death of late Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Michael Adeyemo Oloriki II in 2015, the successor, Prince Samuel Adeyemo selected after consultation with the Ifa oracle, has turned down his selection and had since gone incommunicado.
A statement by the royal family said
“Since the demise of Oba Michael Adeyemo on June 1st 2015, we have focused more on how the town would find a better successor.
“Our findings show clearly that the king makers would be consulting spiritually to throw up an acceptable candidate for the revered stool.
“We were told by Kingmakers of the town that after their due consultation with the Ifa Oracle that the mantle of who will rule the town as the next king successfully fell on Prince Samuel Adeyemo.
“According to our findings about Prince Samuel Adeyemo’s private life, he is accessible, respectful, God fearing who is well known across for his humanity, gentility, quietness and good ambassador to the Land.”
Meanwhile, a document obtained revealed that the Prince and his family have sought asylum in Canada, alleging threat to his lives.
According to an affidavit sworn by his elder sister, Princess Adesola Okunlola, the Prince claimed he found it difficult to accept the decision to succeed his late father because of the required rituals and sacrifices which are against his Christian faith as a minister of God.
He alleged that his wife and children have been confronted with several challenges and death threats from the kingmakers following his refusal to accept the offer.
