Popular America-trained Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has shared an emotional post on why her Christmas Day celebration went roughly.

The controversial social media critic to to her official Instagram handle to share her experience, stating that the spirit of Christmas was ruined when she read some hate comments about her on a social networking site.

According to her, her fans missed out on an opportunity to get a million naira from her after cancelling an initial plan to reach out to about 30 of them.

Her post: “The hate I saw on a day like this took the spirit of Christmas from me. On @instablog9ja @chinnysblog and others who posted my food preparation videos. Many of these people call themselves Christians. To call me a mad woman cooking poison, my mother’s food ridiculed when I invited fans over to my home, called my backyard unsanitary, said I was cooking in the bush and even described my hair as devoured by rodents was disturbing.

“My Sunday open lines for #HNNFan day was cancelled and indefinitely too. I was supposed to give 30 fans $2500 a Lekki businessman and fan who loved my TVC interview and asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told him I just wanted to settle my fans in this recession. The one million naira was donated by my kid’s foundation today to a children’s home in #Ibadan. I was disappointed. I’m glad the orphanage will use it well.”
