Senate introduces bill to create agency for repentant Boko Haram members
The Senate, on Thursday, began moves to establish an agency that would rehabilitate, deradicalise and integrate repentant Boko Haram insurgents in the country.
A bill that would create the agency was read for the first time on the floor of the Senate on Thursday.
The bill named “National Agency for the Education, Rehabilitation, De-radicalization and Integration of Repentant Insurgents in Nigeria (Est, etc) Bill, 2020” was sponsored by former Yobe Governor, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, representing Yobe East Senatorial District.
