Senators, ex-ministers storm Abuja for Appeal Court judgement on Ondo PDP guber candidate tussle

Published

Reports coming in inform that the Appeal Court in Abuja is currently full to capacity as the Special Panel of the Appeal Court is set to deliver judgement on the Ondo PDP governorship candidacy tussle for Saturday’s  guber election.

Among those seated in the court room are Prof Jerry Ghana, the Chairman BoT PDP, Senator Walid Jibrin, National Caretaker Chairman of PDP, Ahmed Markarfi and many other chieftains of the PDP.

According to a notice sent to all parties, the court said it will give its judgement by 12 noon. But latest report says judgement has been delayed due to unforeseen situations. The Special Panel of the Appeal Court is expected to give its verdict anytime soon.

The court is expected to give its judgement on the Eyitayo Jegede versus Biyi Poroye and others case as well as that of the Ahmed Markarfi and Ben Obi versus Biyi Poroye and others.

Meanwhile, Justices Ibrahim Salauwa, Ignatius Igwe Aguba, and George Mbaba have arrived the court for the sitting.

Both Jegede and Markarfi are challenging justice Okon Abang Federal High Court ruling of October 14 and judgement of June 29 which ordered the substitution of Jegede’s name as well as gave recognition to Biyi Poroye and others as Ondo State PDP executives.

Below are photos and videos from the court room as shared on Twitter handle of Ondo Television, @OndoTV:
