Senators on recent foreign trips to undergo Coronavirus test
The Senate leadership has directed senators who recently returned from an official trip from Europe, to go for coronavirus tests immediately.
Members of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources Upstream returned to Nigeria this week from a three-day International training programme organised by Skills and Career Support Center to enrich capacity tor the Petroleum Industry Bill [PIB] in London.
The programme started on Friday 13th March and ended on Sunday 15th March 2020.
Addressing journalists in Abuja after plenary on Thursday, the Senate spokesperson, Senator Godiya Akwashiki, said the affected senators have been asked to go for tests.
He said,
“Senate President announced to the 109 senators, he urged those that just return from foreign trip to go and do the test from tomorow because as leaders we should show example to others.
“Those are the things we took into consideration in the Senate closed-door session today.
“It is better to be late than never. We are all matured people, we don’t need somebody to tell you what to do.”
