Hundreds of inmates at the Okere Correctional Centre – formerly called Okere Prisons – in Warri, Delta State were, on Monday, left completely drenched after a heavy downpour destroyed the roofs of buildings housing them.

It was also learnt that an entire roof of one of the buildings was removed by the rain exposing the prisoners to the harsh weather.
According to sources, the rain accompanied by heavy winds destroyed the roof of the building causing the entire building to be flooded.
