SHE NEEDS TO BE POLITICALLY INTEGRATED! Lauretta Onochie, Nigerians react to Ezekwesili’s withdrawal from presidential race
President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Mrs. Lauretta Onochie, has reacted to the withdrawal of Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, from the presidential race less than a month from the election.
Onochie said Ezekwesili, the Presidential Candidate of ACPN, has chickened out after watching the mammoth crowd that continues to receive the President who she described as “Mr. Integrity’ during his campaign rally.
She wrote: “Oby Ezekwesili, the Presidential Candidate of ACPN, has chickened out after watching the mammoth crowd that continues to receive Mr. Integrity across the nation.
“She has pulled out of the Presidential Race, letting her followers down. Buhari will never let us down.”
Meanwhile, In a statement issued by the spokesperson for the Obiageli Ezekwesili Presidential Campaign Organisation, Ozioma Ubabukoh, Ezekwesili was quoted as saying that her decision to withdraw from the race followed extensive discussions with Nigerians at home and the Diaspora.
According to her, the action is also prompted by an examination of the country’s electoral environment sequel to the 2019 presidential debate of Saturday, January 19, 2019.
Other well-meaning Nigerians also expressed divergent views over Ezekwesili’s withdrawal.
Many also lambasted and booed the outspoken #BringBackOurGirls leader for wasting their hard earned money to donate and campaign for her in hopes of a new Nigeria.

Madam Oby’s withdrawal from a presidential race that existed only in her mind is a fitting denouement to the journey in circles which she had led a few gullible folks to embark on with her.
I think she deserves to be politically interrogated so that we may be guided in future.

Declare for President.
Collect donations into millions.
Refuse to campaign.
Quit race.
Become richer.
Madam Oby Ezekwesili is a yahoo boy.

Madam Oby thank you for making me lose 250k from @Stalyf and another 50k from @YemieFASH
But on the other hand, I have a newfound respect for both men. They warned me and predicted Oby Ezekwesili stepping down. They saw this coming pic.twitter.com/h9ored3ZG6— Life Outreach Global ? (@TheLifeOutreach) January 24, 2019
So Madam Oby is graduating from one self deceit and pipe dream to another, what is forming a coalition that’ll defeat the APC and PDP in next month’s election?
I personally think the ability to analyze situations and make the right decisions is a very key part of leadership
— SoulJah (@jeffphilips1) January 24, 2019
Forming a coalition days to the election doesn’t sit well with me. Madam Oby should forget the coalition. If they were serious about rescuing the country from APC and PDP, they would have formed that coalition long before the election.
— Kobisonna (@_Chiddy_) January 24, 2019
Madam Oby’s new coalition quest should be shunned.
But this is Nigerian politics where anyone can claim to know the way and some people will still follow.
Even if that person was once a PDP Minister and afterwards an APC ally.
And I say this generally, not as a PDP person.
— Demola Olarewaju (@DemolaRewaju) January 24, 2019
PDP and the APC may look the same to those who aren’t politically deep, but each election continues to show new differences between both parties but none has done so as much as this 2019 election, and I think @DoubleEph never fails to point this out in relation to Economics.
— Demola Olarewaju (@DemolaRewaju) January 24, 2019
Madam oby ezekwesili has stepped down from the presidential race to support a coalition that will send out the #APCPDP monopoly.
While this decision is great, it is however coming late & will make no difference if all of Sowore, Moghalu & Fela Durotoye still decide to run.
— FAVOUR ONYEOZIRI (GCFR) (@Rouvafe) January 24, 2019
Oby Ezekwesili has stepped down to help build a single coalition against the incumbents. My next preferred candidate is Kingsley Moghalu, and if all other 3rd force presidential candidates consolidate around one person, it can become significant enough to shake the status quo.
— Mark Essien (@markessien) January 24, 2019
Oby Ezekwesili stepping down this close to the February election just goes on to prove that the Nigerian politics is a joke.
And if you choose to die for the sake of any politician, you’re the biggest fool around

Mrs Oby Ezekwesili withdraws her 2019 Presidential candidacy. Thank you for putting the people of Nigeria 1st. I’m proud to be part of the few who believe we need a new way of doing things in Nigeria. I hope a viable 3rd force will come soon. As for me, I am tired of the oldies. pic.twitter.com/q8ruAovenC

The plan was for Buhari to miss the debate, so Oby Ezekwesili and co can make the debate about Atiku, do him dirty, discredit him, thus creating content for days for those BMC idiots.
Again, Atiku did well by missing that debate.
— Don Oddy Corleone (@Oddy4real) January 24, 2019
Thanks, ACPN, for seeing the light we saw long ago. We beseech the respect ed Oby Ezekwesili to join hands now with PMB. The coalition we need in Nig is a coalition against corruption, not a coalition against any political party. PMB is already leading the pack against corruption https://t.co/rpvDVtNZbY

First Oby Ezekwesili drops out. Then Fela Durotoye is about to drop out. The choice not to debate these ones was a sound choice. I hope people can see the sense in @atiku not doing #2019Debate with them. https://t.co/Gus1JG0mwu

This is what the debate would have looked like if Buhari, Atiku, Fela Durotoye, Oby ezekwesili , sowore and Donald Duke all participated together ? pic.twitter.com/vE2xAUUfiS

Oby Ezekwesili has withdrawn from the presidential race. LOL
If I share my thoughts on this development, y’all will come for my head. Let me just face front ?
— Elsie Godwin (@ELSiEiSY) January 24, 2019
Atiku was supposed to debate Fela Durotoye, Oby Ezekwesili and Kingsley Moghalu.
The first two are already out of the race; so he didn’t miss out much by not participating.
On a serious note – winning elections requires some planning, its not enough to be passionate & sincere.
— Onye Nkuzi (@cchukudebelu) January 24, 2019
Did I not tell you aunty Oby Ezekwesili and all these 3rd force people were scamming you ? ?? pic.twitter.com/8BBxN8nCvv
— Oluyemi Fasipe?? (@YemieFASH) January 24, 2019
I’ve always said it, the easiest way to defeat this #APCPDP dominance, is only if Oby Ezekwesili , Fela Durotoye, Kingsley Moghalu and Omoyele Sowore all join forces, instead of sharing their votes amongst one another. After all, they are all in it for the progress of the nation.
