Six-year-old girl infected with Covid-19 in Jigawa
The Jigawa State Commissioner for Health and the Chairman of the Task Force on COVID-19, Dr Abba Zakari, has revealed that a six years old girl tested positive for coronavirus [Covid-19] in the state.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the girl is the daughter of the state’s index coronavirus case.
He explained that 18 samples were collected from those who had contact with the index case, but only the girl came back positive.
Dr Zakari said the girl will soon be evacuated and will join her father at the isolation centre in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
WuzupNigeria further reports that the total confirmed cases in Jigawa rose to 72 on Tuesday after the state recorded 32 new cases.
Governor Abubakar Badaru, who gave the update on the spread of coronavirus in the state, said 57 samples of persons, who had contact, with the infected persons were taken in five Local Government Area of the State, at the end of which 32 tested positive.
