Slanderous statement: Ik Ogbonna sues Vlogger for calling him gay
Nigerian actor, Ik Ogbonna, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Nigerian vlogger, Joyce Boakye, better known as Bold Pink, who resides in the United State of America.
The actor through his lawyers, Moshood Shehu and associates, issued a 7-day notice to the Vlogger and demanded she retracts her slanderous publication as well tender a public apology.
In a video, the busty looking vlogger claimed that IK Ogbonna is gay and asked him to “kindly come out of the closet”.
“You married your beautiful wife kept her in the house but you’re still looking for Nollywood actors (male) to sleep with. You cannot be deceiving yourself,” she added.
WuzupNaija reports that Ogbonna’s marriage to his Colombian wife, Sonia Lareinaa, has been in public scrutiny since the actor reportedly cheated on his wife.
The mother of one further fuelled the rumours when she changed her IG handle to her maiden name, however, IK Ogbonna claims his marriage is intact and asked busybodies to keep shut.
In a post accompanied by the court papers, IK Ogbonna wrote;
RE: DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER OF MR IKECHUKWU OGBONNA : NOTICE TO RETRACT AND TENDER UNQUALIFIED APOLOGY.”
“A free platform created for promotion and marketing has given people cheap voices to speak cheaply about people’s hard earned integrity.
“Most of those who want us to come out with “who we truly are”…as they claim, have themselves nothing to show to anyone.
“The noises are mostly made and heard from the empty barrels. We give attention to what is of value not what takes our attention from what is of no value.
“And very soon, society must weed out the tares that prevent the wheat from standing out.” If u come with allegations pls come out of the closet with prove to ur allegation,” he wrote.
The Vlogger is yet to respond to the court papers.
