Soldier slaps LASTMA official who stopped him from taking BRT lane [Video]
A video of a yet-to-be-identified military officer assaulting an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) is presently making the rounds on social media.
It was gathered that the soldier had driven his bus painted in Lagos commercial vehicles yellow and black colours through the part of the road dedicated to Lagos State government-owned commercial buses – BRT.
The LASTMA officials were said to have stopped his vehicle leading to a hot argument between the soldier and the traffic officials.
The viral video shared on Twitter by Senior Special Assistant to Lagos Governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat.
He wrote:
“The special lane is dedicated to BRT buses and other vehicles are prohibited from taking the lane. When another soldier who was passing by stopped to ask him what was going on, he came down from his bus, walked down to where the LASTMA official was standing and slapped him.
While he was been held by a police officer, the angry soldier went to where the LASTMA official was standing and slapped him.
