Soleimani’s killing: Akon slams Twitter users poking fun at Third World War
Following the series of hilarious reactions that have continued to trail the ‘looming’ World War III on social media, Senegalese-American singer, Akon has slammed users for poking fun at war.
Akon warned that a lot of lives are at stake from all sides if there is a war in any part of the world.
Recall that since the killing of General Qasem Soleimani by the Unites Stated air strike, many Twitter users have been posting series of memes to express their readiness and fear for a looming third world war that could be sparked by the feud between Iran and the US.
Peeved by the reactions on social media, Akon took to his Twitter page to frown caution users.
He wondered when any war becomes a comical event that should be joked about.
Akon tweeted:
The Iranians have threatened to hit America in a way they would never forget, while the US President Donald Trump has also continued to roll out threats on his Twitter page.
Some social media users who also aligned with Akon’s stance tweeted:
People are becoming more and more desensitized as years go by. If they don’t think they’ll be affected they make a meme, gif, and now a TikTok about it.

This is twitter, not everyone here can defend their words, they just do things randomly, generally because we joke with things a lot…
So boss, just relax, there’s nothing we can do about it…!

Wars are better left imagined. The tales of the Nigerian Civil war as told by my aged parents still gives me mind-traumas o.

Another Twitter user, however, tweeted:
In all fairness bro, I’m pretty sure everyone knows it’s not funny. Unfortunately people like us cannot really makes a difference, but people like yourself with so munch influence can. You have many followers and you have a voice… if YOU lead, people will follow. ??
