Pastor Enoch Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has finally broken his silence on the alarming cases of adultery/fornication making the body of christ an object of ridicule.

The highly respected cleric who hardly wades into controversial issues said that RCCG belongs to the Christian Association of Nigerian and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, therefore, he adheres to their rules.

Adeboye, however, said he had been compelled to speak on the issue but will only do so using bible verses “which is the truth in all circumstances.”

Adeboye said this during the monthly Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption camp on Friday, July 6.

He said:

“I feel compelled to say some things to those that are young and up and coming ministers. What I want to say is from the Bible:

“1. There is nothing hid that shall not come to the open or made manifest. Mark 4:22

“2. Sooner or later, your sins will find you out if you continue in sin under the guise of grace. Numbers 32:23

“3. Abstain from every appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22.

“2 Timothy 2:22 When you find yourself facing youthful lust,  flee; don’t say you’re highly anointed or something, ask Samson. You may say I’m old fashioned, I agree. I’ll never have a private secretary who’s a woman.

“When a woman accuses you of something, nobody will listen to you whether you’re right or wrong; be wise! I’m old fashioned, but I’m still surviving since I was ordained; it’s better to be old fashioned & live than modern and die.”

The 77-year-old cleric also advised upcoming ministers to abstain from every appearance of evil adding that “when a woman accuses you of something, nobody will listen to you whether you’re right or wrong; be wise!

“I’m old fashioned, but I’m still surviving since I was ordained; it’s better to be old fashioned & live than modern and die,” he added.

This comes in the wake of several rape allegations levelled against “men of God” with Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, the most recent one.

WuzupNaija reports that Busola Dakolo in an interview with YNaija had accused Fatoyinbo of raping her about 20 years ago.

The allegations sparked outrage on social media with many Nigerians storming the Abuja headquarter of the church in a protest calling for the prosecution of the cleric.

Fatoyinbo bowed to public pressure on Monday when he announced that he was taking a leave of absence over the allegations.
