Published

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, who is in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission office in Lagos, reportedly feed over 150 people (detainees and visitors).

He also secured lawyers for some of the detainees that are in genuine need of legal representation and promised to assist those having challenges in meeting their bail conditions.

This was shared in a tweet from his Twitter account @GovAyoFayose currently operated by his spokesperson, Lere Olayinka.

The tweets read;

“In his usual characteristics, Fayose took his Stomach Infrastructure to the EFCC office in Lagos today as he provided food for over 150 people (detainees and visitors).

“The highly elated detainees jointly sang the National Anthem after their stomachs were adequately serviced.

“Also, he has secured lawyers for some of the detainees that are in genuine need of legal representation and promised to assist those having challenges in meeting their bail conditions.”

However many Nigerians on Twitter lambasted the ex-governor saying he could afford stomach infrastructure because he “stole funds”.

Some also praised his courage saying that even though he looted funds meant for Nigerians, he was magnanimous with it.

Fayose is being prosecuted by the EFCC alongside his company — Spotless Investment Ltd — on an 11-count of N30.8 billion fraud.

He, however, pleaded innocence of the offences.

Fayose is being defended by a former Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN).
