Police stray bullet reportedly hits baby inside room in Port Harcourt [Photos]
A little baby escaped death by a whisker in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on Thursday after he was allegedly hit in the tummy by a stray bullet.
A social media user @Chiukwujioke who claimed he is a friend of the toddler’s dad shared photos of the incident on Twitter.
According to him, the bullet was allegedly fired by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and entered the apartment through the roof.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday at Nkpogu roundabout, Transamadi in the capital city of the oil-rich state around 9 pm.
He added that the mother of the baby had gone out to buy diapers and the baby was with her father in their home when the bullet ripped through their roof and hit the baby.
Calling for the intervention of popular advocate Segun Awosanya popularly known as Segalink and other Nigerians, @Chiukwujioke wrote:
“Pls I need this police to be caught and charged to Court. A flying bullet by the Nigerian police nearly killed my colleague daughter yesterday night at Mkpogu, trans amadi, Port Harcourt.”
He added:
“The father said the bullet came straight from the roof. Pierce the roof down to the baby.”
